This workshop is about attention. Inner and outer awareness. In the contemporary digitalised world we often get disconnected from our bodies and the natural world around us. Children spend a lot of time in front of the screens, and sometimes for hours a day they just use their eyes to gather information. Disconnecting from the body this way, they disconnect from the multiple intelligences governing the body: physical, emotional, expressive. Through the body we also connect to the larger body of the Earth. The body and the natural world — both are our homes. There is a growing understanding that children need more of nature time in their lives. During this workshop we explore both worlds and use artistic media to tell stories from our explorations. We also experiment with the question in which environments do we feel most alive, curious and energised? What’s the relationship between body and space?
